I’m in line at the loop at this moment. The museum is not open the current order is it will open at 10:30 AM for people who currently have tickets. Currently there are no ticket sales at the museum there is a rumor that they will be sold perhaps afternoon but because of staffing issues I don’t think anyone knows for sure.
I will post updates as I am able, bon chance,

The line is moving for ticket holders at least morning it started about 10:50 AM about 20 minutes later and the revised start time.

No new ticket sales as far as I’ve heard but information is scarce.

We got closed out on Monday but it looks like will at least get a few hours in today.

You haven’t really visited France until something you’ve wanted to do gets closed by a strike.

Sorry this is happening to you and hope you got in quickly, but those employees are right to take a stand. Administration wants as many tix $ales as possible. Meanwhile, not only have staff jobs been impossible for years, but also the tourist mass endangers the art works. I’ve seen people climbing on Roman statues for selfies, full drink cups left in the corners of rooms, while guard staffing is at 2010 levels. The noise, pushing, and shoving around the information desk is terrible. So I hope you have a good visit, but also get a chance to thank a staff member or two.

We got an abbreviated Louvre visit but the crowds were really bad. The crush of people just going directly to see the Mona Lisa was astounding. People seem to be going just to take a picture of “name brand” pieces or get their picture taken in front of it. Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa etc are surrounded by picture taking crowds while while rooms of amazing artifacts and art are ignored.
If this wasn’t even a crowded day the workers of the Louvre have my sympathy. I’m not sure what the solution is - maybe a safari tram ride where people get to see only the things they are told they care about...

Musée de Orsay was much better - only the impressionist wing was really crowded and some of that is down to awkward design.

Paris is still lovely, of course, but it doesn’t feel nearly as “foreign” as it used to.

C’est la vie,

Tried wed, May 29 at 3pm w/museum pass, but standing underneath museum pass stanchon, guard blocked my way and told me to get in "next line" to the right that was long and not moving. Chose not to wait in sun and will try again tonight during wed night hours. Don't know what is happening with Louvre closing for strikes on Mon., May 27; staff meeting this morning may 29; and now strange entry procedures.
