I have been reading this board, along with other Rick Steves resources, for over a year as my wife and I planned our anniversary trip to France and Spain this summer. Now that we are here, I feel compelled to sign in just to say two things. First of all, thank you to all of you who have posted such helpful information. This forum is an incredible resource. Secondly, our experience (almost at the halfway point) has been nothing but positive. Paris was warm and welcoming, as well as a great deal of fun meeting other Europeans visiting for Euro Cup 2016. We now are spending a week in a small village in the Midi-Pyranees, which is beyond beautiful. Our travel logistics have been fine. We have not really been impacted by strikes, weather, or other issues. It's been great so far and I expect the rest of the journey to be great as well!

Same here. We have just a few days left, and it has all been great. I did get an email from Versailles today saying our planned Tuesday visit will be impacted by a strike, but I am not sure yet how that will play out.
