Illustrated Bayeux Tapestry

Does anyone know the name or publisher of the complete illustrated (in one piece) book versions of the tapestry for sale in the museum in Bayeux? They were only about 7 Euros or so. So far, searches have not turned up much. TIA

There is a copy on eBay UK of the fold-out book I think you are looking for. I have 1 or 2 in a box in my garage that I can't get to until the weekend. If I have 2, I'll PM you because I'd be happy to give my extra one to you if I still have it. I may have left my spare one at my former school when I retired last year. Take a look at the link and let me know if this is the specific book you're looking for. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Bayeux-Tapestry-a-fold-out-facsimile-of-the-whole-tapestry-/251975806517

Yes, that is what I am looking for. If you have an extra great I'd appreciate it. They seem to be pretty hard to locate over here!

Mine has a different cover from the one on E-Bay, but I think it's the same thing, I bought it at the museum in 2013. Title is "La Tapisserie de Bayeux: Reproductions integrate au 1/7e." The only indication of a publisher is "Bayeux Museum" on the back cover.

Amazon has what looks like something very similar, on the same scale, edited by Artaud Freres in 1980. The covers may be different on these various editions but the content must be the same!

Thanks, just ordered it from Amazon. My mother seems extremely interested in the Tapestry and has asked tons of questions about it. They don't allow pics so I thought this would be a good way for her to see it. Unfortunately, I couldn't guess her interest when I was there and could have picked one up.

I'm glad you were able to buy one online. Now I won't have to move some boxes around in the garage! Thanks, Dick, for the Amazon tip. It must have been the French only spelling that threw my search in a different direction. The book that I see on Amazon this morning is a French version only. My book has the title on the outside and captioning in 3 languages. I'm not sure about the book you bought, Ray, but if it turns out to be French only that shouldn't be a problem since you will be able to explain a lot of it to your mother and there will be books at the public library that can paint a broad picture of the battle and time period. And if your purchased copy is also in English all the better. Enjoy!

I hope it is in English, but I did my homework on it before leaving and will do my best to explain it to her. Thanks for the help!

Has your fold out book arrived yet? Is it in 3 languages including English? I found my second unused copy today so let me know...

It has arrived, but it is in very bad shape... some of the pages are torn and repaired with scotch tape.
