I am looking at purchasing the Navigo Weekly Pass during our stay in Paris. By using the Ile de France Mobilites app, it appears after creating a profile with your picture on the app & confirming with the app your phone is capatible, you can both pay & use your pass through your phone.
Has anyone actually done this? I prefer the idea of using our phones so we don't lose a physical card & we don't have to worry about getting or bringing small photos to adhere to the weekly pass.
I'd appreciate any real experience from other travelers. Thanks

The only phones that can potentially function as cards using this app are late model Samsung. There have also been reports of phones with the app not being able to load fares onto Navigo cards. I do not really need another app on my phone that does little more that what I can do in seconds walking past a Navigo kiosk.
I use Citymapper for public transportation information, which I have found more reliable than any of the RATP apps, plus the one Citymapper app works in numerous locations other than Paris.
