I will be in Paris in a about week and a half and I have purchased a pack of 10 t+ metro tickets each for my wife and I on each of our iPhones. When I try to purchase the same 10 t+ tickets for my 10 year old son using his iPhone 10 (IOS 17.), the purchase fails as they can not be loaded into his iPhone Wallet App. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a solution, or alternative. I will be arriving in Paris by Eurostar train coming from Amsterdam. Thank you.
Is his iPhone 10 too old?
I can load metro tickets directly through Wallet on my iPhone 12. Go to Wallet, hit the "+" at the top right of screen, select "Transit Card", scroll down to France, select and you will see options for passes or tickets. Apple Pay would need to be set up on his phone (I assume.....). I don't know if any of this fix is available for an older phone.
Good luck! Technology is great - but only when it works (easily)!!!
I do not use Apple products but your phones must be NFC capable, older iPhone models are not, and you must be using the IDF Mobilité app, not the Bonjour RATP app.
Your son can always load tickets t+ onto a reusable Navigo Easy card (2€), once you are in Paris. The current ticket t+ price is 4€, 10 electronic tickets t+ are 32€.
Thank you all.
In order to be able to purchase these t+ tickets on your IPhone, you should at least have IOS 17.5.1 installed on the IPhone. It will not work with older IOS versions.
