I had my son-in-law living in Switzerland purchase Eiffel Tower tour tickets for us (daughter and son-in-law not accompanying us on the tour). Upon reading the terms of the tickets he purchased under his name, it appears that they check identity of ticket holders. Is this true? We do not want to be denied entrance to the tour due to the fact that our son-in-law's name is on our tickets. I assume the authorities will be busy checking the date and time only. True? or should we worry?
Hi Vicki, don't worry. I was at the ET last week and they hardly glanced at our online tickets. I thought there might be a problem/question because both tickets were in my name. Great thing about it was no line to enter, no queue. The guy directed us to a roped off aisle and we were able to go ahead of a bunch of people in the line who had purchased tickets that day. Took all of two minutes to get to the elevator.
Don't worry. Odds are, based on current reports, a pickpocket will steal the tickets before you get in the tower.
