Ideas for filling in a few days in France with teens

Hello! We have a trip to France planned June 28-July 10 but things went a little awry with the family we're going with and I need to redo a part of our itinerary. We are spending June 28-July 4 in Paris. We plan to arrive in Nice on July 7 or 8 and fly home from Nice on the 10th. I need a plan for the 4th through the 7th or 8th. What should we do?! Options abound! We are two parents and three kids ages 15, 13, and 10. I'm the only one who's been to France, but it was ages ago. Lyon? Colmar? A quick flight to Corsica? Go directly to the Riviera and explore more spots? We are open to all the ideas. TIA!

Definitely extend your time in Nice. Arriving on the 7th gives you only two days to explore the Riviera.
You might want to look at the tourist train ride to Tende with the children, or one of the boat rides out to one of the islands in the bay off Cannes ( Île St-Honorat, etc). This is if they get tired of Monaco, Antibes, beaches, and so on.

I agree with Bets. The Riveria would be enjoyable for your kids. You can do lots of day trips from Nice. I highly recommend

This hotel is close walk to train station for making day trips easy, and has some of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The rooms are of decent size, clean, and wonderful staff and great breakfasts. We really enjoyed it immensely. Easy walk to everything, including the beach which was about 10-15 min. Very very convenient for day trips. The kids will enjoy the area.

Colmar is charming and quaint, but I would stay in Strasbourg to give your kids more things to do if you choose this area. Day trip to Colmar, and another fun day trip (1/2 day) would be to Gengenbach, Germany from Strasbourg. It's a short hop, and very German!
The old town of Strasbourg is like walking into a Harry Potter book. We just loved it. But then, if you are flying home from Nice, Nice makes much more sense.
