I Have A Paris Greeter!

Well, I have a Paris Greeter. The date offered me is my third choice which will work.

My Greeter has suggested the morning of the 8th. I will rest on the 6th after arriving at my hotel, walking around the immediate area. If I can find the Toot Bus Stop, I will do that on the 7th

And here is what my Greeter suggests for the morning of the 8th:

Hello , My name is . We could meet at Fontaine Saint-Micehl or I can take you at your hotel if you give me the name. I would propose to go around the latin quarter between the Seine river and up to the Pantheon that is around 1 km distance. we could see the Sorbonne university from outside, the collège de France and Hotel de Cluny and go up to Place du Panthéon and end in Luxembourg Garden. That would take us around the main parts of Latin Quarter and it is not a long walk. I hope to see you next month.

I suggested meeting at my hotel. I really like the description of the stroll.

Congratulations! A friend of mine from my first RS tour uses Greeter networks whenever possible and has never been disappointed. Let us know how it goes for you. I am looking at what they offer for my Northern Italy trip in September.

You are lucky to have one! Demand often exceeds supply.

It is lovely to be met at your hotel. You can ask any questions you want: about tipping; places to see; using transit; hidden gems.

It’s more like meeting a friend of a friend than a tour guide. Enjoy!

Lovely for you

Perhaps she might take you by - and inside - Eglise St. Etienne du Mont. Caddy-corner to the back of the Pantheon.

St Etienne is the site of some funerary relics of St. Genevieve, patron saint of Paris whose life and place in history are remarkable.

It also has some wonderful stained glass in the sanctuary and more stained glass in the cloisters, behind the church. Those were transferred from other churches in the area of Paris during WW1 for protection from German artillery.

Also in the area is where Marie Curie and Pierre Curie had their lab at the Sorbonne.

Amusez-vous bien.

I had a Greeter in Brussels last December. It is a wonderful kind of institution. I did not ask many questions but I wish now that I had asked more, as it is more of a payoff for the Greeter. Wear comfortable shoes!!

Hello fred

I do not know if the Greeter is allowed to take a visitor inside of any buildings but I can always ask.
