I am frozen, trying to pick a hotel in Avignon and Nice. Can you help please

Yes, I've gone on booking.com and checked other recommendation sites....still frozen and yes, it is a problem I have...just too much to choose from.

Avignon- May 23-26, 2025 price range $ 600.00 plus or minus
Nice- May 26-May 30, 2025 price range $1500.00 plus or minus

Nice accomodations, don't need fussy or extravagant, central location is important. Breakfast on site is a plus. Air conditioning. Don't mind stairs. Can be modern or quint or in between.

Thank you in advance

Just stayed at the Hotel Splendid in Nice. about 5 blocks from the beach, 3 blocks from the subway (tram lines 2 & 3). Roof top swimming pool, bar, breakfast area overlooking the roof tops of Nice. 4 nights for 2 with breakfast for your dates from 1000 EUR flex rate, less for a nonrefundable rate. Has A/C

We stayed at the Bristol Hotel in Avignon for two nights and it was a good stay. Great breakfast, and a very easy walk with luggage to the train station in Avignon. Easy to commute around via train, or walking distance. Decent restaurants all around.

In Nice, we stayed at the Ibis Styles Nice Centre Gare. It had great reviews which is why we chose it. It did not disappoint. The rooms were of decent size, clean, bright, and very comfortable beds. The breakfast was fantastic. It is 0.2 from the train station, and we walked all over Nice with no issues. You can also catch the tram to go wherever you like. It was very reasonably priced, and had great staff who were very accommodating. Since we flew in to Nice, we took an Uber to the hotel, but you can catch a tram as well.

HI sbowers992,
We have also stayed at Hotel Bristol in Avignon. Loved it. Clean, stylish, helpful desk clerks (they made copies for us for documents we needed), close to everything.

In Nice: La Perouse, wonderful, overlooking the sea, lovely interior courtyard. Our stay was years ago, so things might have changed. I think it is next door to Hotel Suisse. Perfect location.
Also many years ago: Mercure Nice Grimaldi, it was very nice, great rooftop pool, walk to everything.
Most recently, about 3 years ago: Hotel La Scala, clean rooms, great location, walk to everything. Lovely view of the park. They offered breakfast, but we didn't take it. We just walked down the street, for, of all things a bagel!
Enjoy Nice!

I know you got it fixed, but I wonder if you know that the Monaco Formula 1 weekend ends with the Grand Prix the day before you arrive in Nice - that partly accounts for the high hotel price....

Yes, I did know that Nigel, however, Nice is our last stop and we will be flying home from there so as they say 'it is what it is"

Thank you!
