Hyatt regency Paris etoile

We are thinking about staying at this hotel. Is it in a good location? Are there restaurants in the area to walk to? Any thoughts on the hotel itself? Is it easy to get to the tourist attractions?

Have you tried getting a map of Paris or looking at a google map with your hotel address and seeing where it is at? Use the street view to check out what is around the hotel. As long as it is close to a subway entrance you can go anywhere easily.

The hotel is on the far western edge of Paris and is very near a metro (Line 1) and RER station so yes, it is easy to get to attractions if you are willing to take a train or a bus. If you are envisioning walking to any major tourist sites other than the Arc d' Triomphe, that is probably not going to happen in less than about an hour. I don’t know any good restaurants nearby.

Tower hotel connected to the Palais de Congres convention center and near to the Peripherique ring highway. Wouldn't be my choice, but points are points. Porte Maillot RER and Metro station nearby.

We stay here during every trip to Paris (full disclosure - I work for Hyatt so stay for cheap or free). The view of the Eiffel Tower can't be beat!

You are virtually connected to Line 1 and the RER. We walk all over the city - it's about .75 miles to the Arc and 2 miles to the Eiffel Tower. I like that this hotel is far enough from the tourist sites to avoid, well, tourists, yet well-connected via public transit or walking.

One thing I'd say is to avoid the restaurants in the immediate area - they seem to cater to the business travelers on expense accounts who are attending events at the convention center.
