How to get Navigo weekly pass?

Where can I get a Navigo weekly pass? Online or can I get one at train, bus or subway station? Thank you. Will be in Paris in two days.

Metro stations have information booths but not sales booths. SO you buy the pass on the machine with your credit card; it issues a receipt (I seem to recall they look like a ticket but it may be an ordinary receipt). You take that receipt to the information window and they give you the pass kit. If there is no line and they are bored and you look clueless, they might assemble it for you. Bring a headshot 25/30 mm already cut to size. You can clip it out of a snapshot or print it on your computer.

If they don't assemble it -- you do so, sticking the photo where it goes, printing your name where that goes and then you fold the gummed plastic over the photo and signature and put the card with the chip on it and the card with the photo on it together (the number will show through the slot and let you know you have combined them correctly. Then you slide this sandwich into the plastic case.

NOW you load the pass. There is a pink swirly patch on the machine where you put your pass and then you buy the weekly pass on the machine and load it; the machine tells you when it is done and you can take the pass. (keep the receipt in case this didn't work right -- on one occasion my pass didn't work and I then took the ND and my receipt to the information window and the clerk loaded it up. Machines have an English option to make this all easier and the clerk can assist even though she cannot herself sell you stuff.

If you guy it at an RER station there is a sales window and you can do the whole transaction there including buying, assembling and then charging up the pass. They do each pass transaction as a separate credit card transaction (even if several of you are buying them)

You can also get them at a Tabac in your neighborhood. Look for the green RATP symbol outside.

But why would you want a weekly if you're only there 2 days? Will you be there in the middle of the week, and when the ticket is still available?

Wouldn't you be better with the daily option?

Don't want to second guess you but most folks use the Navigo Decouverte for several consecutive days.

Would you like to share your plans so we can help you be sure you are getting the best choice?

Earlier replies give you the information you need. I'll just add that the guy in the booth at the (less-frequented) metro station near where I'm living was happy to sell me a weekly pass the other day. Yes, they expect you to use the multilingual machines, but most of the time, particularly at less busy stations, the staff person is willing to sell it to you if you have a problem with the machine, as I did. Actually I've had a lot of trouble with the machines just lately - on Sunday none of them would take any credit card (and I tried multiple cards at multiple stations), on Monday everything was back to normal.

in a pinch the information officer can sell you something with a credit card but mostly they direct you to the machines. We did have problems putting a month pass on the ND early on and could not get our cards to work at the machines; the info clerk used our cards to charge up our NDs with the monthly pass. The machines now usually work with US cards but back then most of them didn't.

Just a reminder that the Navigo weekly isn't valuable for seven days from the time you buy it -- it is valuable for one week from Monday through Sunday.

I'm not even sure you can still buy it on Thursday for the rest of the week.
