How to find the best vide-greniers in France?

Hi,

I am living in Brittany, near the city of Rennes for a year and I'm a keen second-hand shopper. Is there a way to find the best car-boot-sales/ vide-greniers here?

Any tips, websites or ideas of how to connect with like minded people would be great.

Best,
Karan

You could try checking sites like vide-greniers.org, brocabrac.fr, and also search for groups on Facebook (try searching vide grenier with things like Rennes or 35 and see if any active groups come up).

Every village has a vide-grenier once a year. Your neighbours should be able to tell you the locals ones they like the most. There probably won't be many before March, however.

Wow, thank you Amy, Simon and Francoise, I wasn't expecting such great replies so soon.

Super, I will look through those websites now - some I have searched before but a few are new to me. I'll also search for local FB groups.

Any more advice is always welcome, thanks!

the quality is dramatically varied. I have a watch that is beautiful and has been running, well like clockwork, for 10 years that I got for 10 Euros and a really pretty old 1950s piece of costume jewelry that I wear often that I got for about 40 Euros -- love them both. The last one I went to was filled with trash that you could not have paid me to take any of. Sometimes it really is like a garage sale of stuff you would probably throw out rather than put in your sale and sometimes there are treasures here and there.
