How much time to spend in Strasbourg

My wife and I are ending a boat-bike tour in Strasbourg. As of now, we're thinking of spending one afternoon and the following full day there. Is are there enough interesting sights in Strasbourg to fill a day-and-a-half? Any must-see recommendations for our visit?

We took some friends there on a day trip last year. We arrived around 11am, wandered through the old town and spent some time at the cathedral, and then had a quick lunch. After lunch, we did the Alsatian Museum and finally wandered through Petite-France before returning to our car at around 6p. If we had more time, we would have had a slow lunch instead of a fast one, visited some of the art museums and the Parc de l'Orangerie, and seen the European Parliament buildings. We might also have been able to time our visit to the cathedral so that we could see the astronomical clock in action (ticket required, only once per day at noon).

Personally, I would have no trouble filling a few days!

Oh goodness...you can easily fill a day and a half, and then some. Cathedral, Petite France, Museum Œuvre Notre-Dame. Throw in some shopping and a couple wonderful meals, and you'll be wishing you had even more time!
