How many nights in Bayeux

Will be arriving in Bayeux via train from Paris. Will not be renting a car.

Probably want to do two different DDay tours to get American perspective and sights and another. Any recommendations on which other?

Would also like to visit Mont St. Michel by taking the bus or a day tour from Bayeux. Then next day back to Paris.

Four nights in Bayeux seems like a long time but is that what I need? All suggestions appreciated.

When I was there in 2013 I spent five nights (four days of sightseeing). That included two days of touring battlefields with Dale Booth, one day seeing the Bayeux Tapestry and taking a walk through the town (and doing laundry), and a day trip to Honfleur (or in your case Mont St. Michel), for which we rented a car. We saw Utah and Omaha and sites, cemeteries, and museums near them, and hope to return someday to see Gold, Sword and Juno. Things are pretty spread out so you'll have to make decisions based on how much time you have.

Four nights in Bayeux sounds just about right. You can take an Overlord tour on one day to cover the American sites, and another day for the British and Canadian sites. Bayeux itself deserves another day. The Tapestry is amazing.

If you will be in Bayeux on a Monday, ask your hotel to make a dinner reservation at the restaurant of your choice - a lot of places are closed on Monday.

We took a "Band of Brothers" tour of D-Day area. It was very good. Also, we stayed overnight at Mont St. Michel. I thought the experience was priceless. Read the reviews of various D-Day tours and before the hotels before booking. Most of all enjoy your time in Bayeux. (Note: I especially enjoyed touring the Bayeux tapestry behind a group of French 5th graders. They pointed out all of gentleman on the tapestry in his underwear, 5th graders you have to love them!)

We also visited the British and Canadian beaches in addition to the U.S. ones and found them to be interesting.

Four nights sounds good. But unless you have an inability to drive, or a phobia about driving, I highly recommend you reconsider renting a car. It will allow you to see so much more, as well as allow you to return to places you saw on your tour(s) and which you wish you had spent more time.
