When you get to the station, you can look at the departure board. If you are waiting at a station for someone to arive, ther is usually an arrivals indicator which shows if trains are on time.
You posted this under France, so I guess this is an SNCF train, in which case look on the SNCF website. Once you are on the train, compare the timetabled times at each intermediate stop with the actual time you get to each station.
Even if it is showing 5, 10 or 15 minutes late, I would not delay leaving for the station.

Thanks Chris
Long time looker but living in Australia not quite up to European transport
Have worked on NSW trains ( Australia) for 39 years - recently retired ) but find it difficult to check on on time running
My daughter is travelling from Montparnasse to Bayonne at the moment ( service 8535 today 03/07/18 )
Chris you must like trains because I have noticed that you have a wide spread of information on trains in Europe and answer many enquires on a wide spectrum of train travel

Using the SNCF app I see that it was 3 minutes late at Bayonne today.

Thanks Nigel
I couldn’t find anything on websites - didn’t think about apps
Appreciate your straightforward replies - concise and correct ( must be the many years of railway work and public interaction )
That’s all thanks - they have arrived at their destination
