Our family will be in Paris in July and I would like to see about picking up a few houseware items for myself. Looking for universal pan lids, espresso spoons, and possibly table linens. We are staying in the 7th but I’m will to travel for a good place.
Thank you.
Right in the 7th, Le Bon Marché department store has a great selection of home goods. Check out the fine foods store on the ground floor, too!
Only mid-range-and-above stuff, but if you want cheap stuff it is best to buy it at home.
You also have several good kitchenware stores by Les Halles (Dehillerin, Simon, possibly others).
Don't set your expectations too high, though: in general, the selection of home knick-knacks is better in the US.
I bought demitasse spoons at Printempts. I also bought some linens there. You might also look at Dehillerin. I have bought quite a few things there as well.
Dehillerin is a delight. I HAD to go after having read this amusing article http://fxcuisine.com/default.asp?language=2&Display=7&resolution=high#Comments.
Take it from me, you need to stick with the clerk who originally helped you even if you wander off downstairs (and do go downstairs).
VP Kamala Harris went and walked out having spent over $500. It's easy to do.
Blanc d’Ivoire on the rue Jacob in the 6th has beautiful table linens. The owner is lovely and very helpful.
If you are in the Marais you might also enjoy this one
BHV at the Hotel de Ville metro stop on line 1 , for sure.
Julia Child became the guru of French cooking for North Americans, so it is no surprise that connections to her choice of tools (or claimed connections) can still turn up on Google. Here is one; there are several others:
