We are driving up from the Loire Valley the day before our afternoon flight home. I was going to book a hotel at the airport but I don't have to turn my car in until the day we leave, so why not stay outside the Roissey area where there might be something interesting to see or a quaint village and drive to the airport in the am and return the car and fly off. I figure an hour outside the airport will give me time even if I leave at 10 to drop off my friends for their 2:30 flight and me to drop off the car and make my 4 pm flight. Anybody have any suggestions?

Somewhere in nearby Chantilly or Senlis
The town of Beauvais has a famous cathedral, one with an interesting history, and it's less than an hour.
Just be sure you're north and east of Paris the night before, so you don't have to cope with the city and suburbs driving to the airport.
