Hotels used on the Loire to the South of France Tour

Hello. We are thinking of joining one of the Loire to the South of France in 13 Days Tours in 2026. The itinerary does not list the hotels that are used so was curious to do some research to find out what the accommodations are before we decide to book. I know the hotels used can change overtime but can anyone who went on this same tour in 2025 list the hotels that were used on your tour for each destination?
Thank you so much.

Hi there,
I took this tour in May 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed it. (I did a trip report; you can find it by searching my name).

It's a great itinerary that takes you to fascinating places – the caves, the Pont du Gard, all of Arles. Highly recommend.

Here's a hotel list, to the best of my memory (and my google maps history).

  • In Chartres, we stayed at the Hotel Grande Monarche, which I described as quintessentially French.
  • In Chinon, we stayed at a lovely family-owned inn that was not air conditioned but has windows and a fan; this was in May so the weather was fine. I think it was the Hotel Diderot.
  • In Sarlat, I think we stayed at the Hotel Montaigne. (That's what my google maps history suggests.)
  • All I remember about the hotel in Carcassonne is that it's a good walk to the fort, and the AC wasn't great so I opened the window. Perhaps the Mercure Carcassonne La Cité?
  • In Arles, the hotel was across the street from the Roman amphitheatre and had a lovely garden as well as a bar and restaurant. I believe it's De l'amphitheatre.
  • Finally, in Nice, I believe we stayed at the Hotel Mercure Nice Marché aux Fleurs, i.e. near the flower market.
