Hotels that are actually in the Charles De Gaulle airport?

Have you every spend a night at any of the hotels that are actually located in the airport? if so, which ones and how was your stay?
Thanks

I've stayed at the Sheraton in terminal 2 at CDG several times, most recently several years ago. It's not cheap, but I chose it b/c I had an early flight the following morning. My stay was fine.

We stayed at Sheraton inside Terminal 2, couple years ago. We also stayed at the Hilton last yr which is about 5 mins from Terminal 3. . Both stays were fine. No problems. Both were easy access to our flights.

We stayed at the Ibis several years ago, it was fine but I'm sure not as nice as Hilton or Sheraton. Small room, bare floor, but clean and comfortable. I don't remember any noise issues. The restaurant downstairs was nothing special but dinner and breakfast were OK.

IBIS -- several times. Walk to shuttle train that takes you to departure terminals. Clean and relatively inexpensive, especially if you join the Accor club. Good for last night before an early-morning plane (we don't like worrying about traffic delays)

These are all at the airport but they are outside immigration so you have to enter France/Schengen to use them. We have stayed at the Hilton (never again) and the Ibis which was a fine budget hotel experience.

Thank you all for your responses.
Normandy: I have been 2 times with Alumni Holidays (AHI Travel), and both trips
have been great experiences.
They have a campus abroad program, usually about 22 people and you stay in one location: Honfleur is where their most recent programs have stayed. If you want to concentrate on WW2, it is a great program.
William Jordan is a very experienced guide, as all of their other guides.

If you've got money to spend the Hyatt Regency is nearby and has both scheduled shuttles and on-demand car service that gets you to the gates just as easily as staying on-site, and the one time I had points or a certificate to stay in the club wing was pretty cushy, at least by my usual ** standards. Breakfast in bed was amazing, and the room had original art lit like a gallery exhibit; club was spacious and calm. It was international chain but with enough of a Parisian accent to almost make me feel unfoolish.
A motivator for me was that they had a daily airconditioned express coach to the 1er arr so the debs could get to their boutique shopping as easily as possible. They gave me a wide berth of my own, believe me. (If they had deigned to speak to me I would have advised them to have the breakfast - they could use it. :-)

These hotels are at the airport. From the terminals they may be reached by the free light rail train CDGVAL. Be careful because many of these companies also have hotels near the airport:

  • Citizen M
  • Hilton
  • Innside by Melia
  • Mercure
  • Moxy
  • Novotel
  • Pullman
  • Sheraton (inside terminal 2)
  • Holiday Inn Express
  • Ibis Styles
  • Ibis
  • YotelAir (inside terminal 2 within the secure area.)

I stayed at the Ibis in 2018. The room was fine and the price was reasonable, but the food situation wasn't good considering it's a large airport hotel. The restaurant--the only source of hot food--didn't open for dinner until 7 PM. I doubt that I was the only guest who wanted to crash early.

Edited to correct serious omission (bolded above).

We stayed at the Hilton, typical American business hotel. Felt like we were already back in the US but it was fine. Good enough restaurant too.
barrype, we did an Alumni College Abroad too, but in Puglia. Fabulous water view hotel experience in Polignano a Mare.

How many restaurants have you found in France that open before 7pm? There are a number that do not open before 19h30 or 7:30pm. Cafés may be open all day long but I do not know of a single restaurant opening before 19h00.

The dining situation near CDG has not been very good since Brasserie Flo closed several years ago. Frenchy´s and Café Eiffel are open all day at terminal 2 but overall, dining at CDG is problematic.

Tocard, I understand the dining hours in France, but an airport hotel with hundreds of guests probably has quite a few with early departure times the next day. I was expecting to find something like a cafe open with hot food before 7 PM.

I had been warned by previous posts on this forum not to expect great dining options at the airport, but it hadn't occurred to me to check the hours of operation of the hotel restaurants. It's easy to forget that many European business establishments operate on a more limited schedule than those in the US. I speculate that it's due at least partly to less reliance on part-time employees.

Also, tradition.

Europe Disney didn't foresee the crowds and long lines for seated restaurant service at very specific fixed hours when it first opened. They had to adapt.
When we moved to the States, I tried serving dinner at 6:50 a few times. Didn't work. Had to wait until the clock struck 7:00. That's just how it is.
Nowadays, there's more takeout food around, but not much at the T3 hotel area or even in the terminals.

Ibis. It was the least expensive of all the hotels I could find the were actually at CDG. It was fine. Not lovely, no view, utilitarian. Comfortable beds. Seemed perfectly clean. The wake-up call worked. Checked in online and picked up a card key upon arrival. One caveat: don't forget your card key in the room as you'll need it for the elevator.

We stayed at HI Express last summer. It is just a few minute walk from airport terminal shuttle. Nice hotel

Novotel. We have stayed there several times on more than one trip and will go back again. Convenient to the VAL and a Marks and Spencer where you can get groceries and prepared foods. The food is very good for both an early breakfast and for dinner. Nice bar. Comfortable and clean rooms every stay.

Check with TripAdvisor and use the map feature. We stayed (I believe at the Ibis) near the terminal for the RER that you take from the airport into Paris. We didn't need a taxi and just drug our luggage.

WATCH OUT for pickpockets, they are terrible there.

We stayed at the Hilton, which is not in the airport, but is part of the complex a short walk from the VAL. I strongly don’t recommend it. At check-in, we were offered an upgrade for $75, that was to include wifi, breakfast, and admission to the pre-dinner wine and snacks facility. We were staying 2 nights, so it seemed like a good value. When we tried the last, there was almost no food left. We stuck around for 20 - 30 minutes, and no refills appeared. Nor was anyone in evidence to monitor the offerings. The second night the room was so crowded that we just gave it a pass. At check-out, the clerk tried to charge us for the wifi ($25/night!), and couldn’t seem to understand that we had paid for the upgrade, though it was right there on the invoice. We had to get a manager to deal with it, all while fretting about being on time for our flight. Oh, and don’t let me forget the shower had no hot water, so we had to move to a new room for the second night. Awful!
