For me, the best way to find a hotel is to go to TripAdvisor.com. They're rated and have lots of reviews.

I stayed at the Hotel Brighton.. in a Tuilleries View room. It was lovely. Had two mini balconies that had amazing views of the Tuilleries Gardens, the Louvre and off in the distance we could even see the Eiffel Tower especially pretty when it sparkled at night. The hotel is more a nice 4 star then a 5 star but I loved it... the location was not really my thing though.. I find the 1st a bit dry.. but sounds like it might be fine for you.. if you get the amazing views!!! The staff were very nice.. and best of all is the breakfast room is not in some nasty basement cellar room ( I dislike those) but in the lovely bright lobby.. and it was a nice buffet as I recall ..
Room had a mini fridge, good a/c , were decent sizes( for Paris )
The hotel is close to other luxury hotels but is as I said not a 5 star..
