Hotels on Rue Cler in Paris

Would appreciate recommendations for 3 or 4 star hotels on or very close to Rue Cler in Paris.

I've stayed at Hotel Muguet on Rue Chevert about a block over from Rue Cler many times and will stay there this fall. I've also stayed at Hotel Relais Bosquet on Rue du Champ de Mars which is about a long block off Rue Cler.

I've also stayed at Hotel Beaugency (Rue Duvivier) but it was looking a bit tired as of last Fall so not sure I would recommend to a first timer. The staff is great though.

Over the years I've also stayed at Hotel l'Empereur (I would stay here again and pick a room with an Invalides view), Hotel de La Motte-Picquet (I had a small room on a small interior courtyard and would not choose that again plus tiniest breakfast room in existence), Hotel Londres Eiffel (a lot of RS Paris tours stay here). I have a couple of friends who like Hotel Cadran but I've never stayed there as it always seems higher price-wise than others.

I think all of those are 3***.

Perhaps you've heard of a gentleman named Rick Steves? He happens to love that street and has all kinds of info about it.

We’ve stayed at Hotel Relais Bosquet a half-dozen times and really enjoy it. Higher rooms have a view of the tower and the breakfast has been fresh and excellent. Cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Paris.

I have also stayed at Hotel Muguet - very old school with a shoe polisher in the hallway - and the charming but sometimes very small rooms of Hotel du Champ de Mars in that area. We stayed they over Xmas one year and it was magical, but we have been back in the spring/summer and it was less so.

Honestly the lack of access to the metro and other transit options has lead me to stay in other areas of the city over rue Cler for the last couple of visits. Only the 8 line runs past there and the two stations felt further away than I sometimes wanted and there were always transfers. I know everyone has their own priorities but transport and value for money has lead me elsewhere in the city.

Enjoy Paris!
