I have a very early flight and wondered about staying at/very near the airport. Does anyone have a recommendation?
I recommend the Sheraton at terminal 2 and if that is too expensive then my second choice would be the Novotel at T3 which is a short CDGVAL ride to the terminals 1 or 2.
Thank you!! I've heard of both. I see the Sheraton is about $250, the Novotel about $100 less. I'll read some more reviews as either would work. It's the first time I've had an early flight and I like the idea of this. Safe travels
I use the Sheraton often since it's attached to Terminal 2 and it makes our departures easy. It's not the cheapest option, for sure, but when we're leaving early, it's just so convenient.
We stayed at CitizenM. Small rooms but comfortable if only for a night. We walked to the terminal to depart on British.
EDIT: CitizenM is located in the same area as Novotel and Ibis, I believe, at least in the area of Roissy bus-which leaves from Opera in Paris. Where the bus stops at T2 is the close access to CDGVAL. CDGVAL is in the same area where RER B comes in. When we walked to T2 we walked right by the Sheraton on our way to check in counters.
Stay AT not NEAR the airport.
We use the Novotel because it is quiet, cheaper and has a decent breakfast but there are several hotels at Roissypole on the RER B line and the CDGVAL.
I stay at the Hilton because I'm gold level, which isn't hard to achieve depending on what credit cards you have. It's a quick walk to the shuttle train in the morning, but wherever you stay if you're planning on having breakfast, make sure they will be open when you need to be leaving. As I recall the Hilton didn't start until 6 which almost didn't work for me.
We stayed at the Ibis and it was perfectly fine for a quick overnight stay to an early flight next morning.
Excellent point regarding being aware of when breakfast is served. Already not my best time of day, so good to look at now:)
The Ibis worked for us, clean and relatively inexpensive. The food was OK but you're not going to get a gourmet experience anywhere at the airport, I think. Agree with others that it's best to stay AT the airport, where there are many choices, rather than depend on a shuttle from one of the hotels in Roissy or nearby.
Have a look at the choices on an airport map. We easily walked to CitizenM. We like them and have stayed in a few, including at CDG, but the rooms are small and the person on the one side of the bed has to crawl over the other to get in and out.
