Hotel Des Grand Hommes. Right across from the Pantheon, traditionally decorated rooms, clean, nice staff. Its a good location because while you are an easy walk to many sights, you are off the busy touristy sections of the Latin Quarter, and right near border of the sxith( St Germain) . Luxembourg gardens just down the street!

Book as early as you can. Many conventions in Sept. And possibly Fashion Week.

Hotel des Mines
Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg
Hotel Elysa Luxembourg
Hotel Cluny Sorbonne
The hotels above are not listed in my order of preference. Of the hotels, I suggest, I like the Observatoire the best but it is a little bit further than is ideal from a Metro station. It's close to an RER stop but I don't like riding the RER. The des Mines is fine but is also not super close to a Metro station and the rooms can be small. Cluny Sorbonne is more of budget choice but is a great value. I have not yet stayed at the Elysa.

Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg (sometimes referred to as Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg Saint-Germain, 3 star, about a block east of the northeast corner of Luxembourg Garden.
