Hi,
I will be travelling as a solo female to Paris later this year (November-ish). I am looking for a safe, reasonably priced (under $150 per night) hotel that is close to one of the larger parks for me to run in, and also close to great shops and more casual dining (as I will be dining alone). I don't necessarily need to be close to the biggest tourist attractions, but I do want to be in an area where I can really walk around a lot and see things.
Last year I spent two nights near the Jardin du Luxembourg and thought that might be a good place to try again, but I am very open to suggestions!
I will also be thrilled to hear any suggestions of things to see/do! I love the outdoors and am a huge foodie.
Thank you so much in advance for any help!
If you stay in the Rue Cler area or near the Eiffel Tower, you could run on the Champs de Mars across the Pont d’léna to the Jardins du Tracadéro. If you’d like to visit a bistro with great food, try Les Petits Papiers on Rue Oberkampf (just around the corner from the Bataclan). Either make a reservation or arrive early. Good chance you’ll be one of the only tourists enjoying Thierry’s wonderful cooking.
We enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles:

The hotel is a short jog east from Luxembourg Garden.
I'll be arriving in Paris and staying by myself for 4 nights before my husband arrives and am staying in the 6th arr near Luxembourg Gardens end of October/early Nov. I've stayed in the 6th arr on my own several years ago and loved it which is why I'll be staying there again.
Thank you for the suggestions!
Does anyone have specific hotel recommendations in the Rue Cler neighborhood? (Still also looking at Jardin du Luxembourg area).
Also, I would love to hear other restaurant/cafe/bistro options that would be good for more casual dining (solo).
I’ve stayed at the Hôtel Beaugency on two occasions. Simple, convenient and comfortable. Don’t opt for a cheap single room - they’re the size of a postage stamp. My first stay there had an Eiffel Tower view from the bathroom window! A friend has stayed and recommends Hôtel Relais Bosquet, a little closer to the Champs de Mars.
Hotel Des Mines , it’s across from Luxembourg park , cheap and clean .
Hotel du Pantheon - right across from Pantheon and 2 minute walk to Luxembourg park also , and it a sister Hotel Hotel Des Grand Hommes , both more expensive than Hotel Des mines but often offer deals in off season , and are very cute traditional style hotels .
Hotel Perreyve is at the Fleurus entrance to the Jardin du Luxembourg and is within your budget. It´s a great location, very quite, with many wonderful restaurants nearby.
As well as the Luxembourg, you might try somewhere near the Monceau park. Even more upmarket neighbourhood, so might be expensive.
Anyone familiar with Hotel de Londres Eiffel in Rue Cler?
Also, choosing dates for the trip . . . first half of November I understand is risky weather-wise, but do you think there is a good chance I'll get some days that aren't super rainy?
THANK YOU, I so appreciate all of the feedback.
Grand Hotel des Balcons. Close to the Luxembourg. It's in the 6th. I've stayed there several times. Good breakfast buffet too.
For the past three years, Paris has been lovely in early November. . . .dry and sunny. No guarantee though for this November.
