Hotels in Opera Area in Paris?

We are making a side trip from UK for 2nights in Paris, one day in Disneyworld. We heard best place to stay is Opera as last stop before heading to Disney on the metro. AAA gave us 3 choices of hotels in that area (THe Opera Cadet, The Haute Ville Opera and NOvotel Paris) We will have 2 smaller children with us too (7&8) We also want to site see while there. THANK YOU! We are going towards the end of September.

Have you looked at TripAdvisor's website for reviews and maps?

The Opera Cadet hotel is a well rated 4 star that is close to the metro and a 15 min walk to the closest RER (Auber)

The Hautville Opera hotel is a 3 star with rather mixed reviews. Close to a couple of metros, but a 20 min walk to the Auber RER.

There are well over a dozen Novotels in Paris. Don't know which is closest to the Opera area. It's part of a huge chain, so you'd be getting a basic business hotel. Nothing wrong with that,if it has the amenities you want. You could use Google maps to find the right location for you.

You'll want to be a bit careful with the correct spelling of the hotels when you search for them online. You can't get to DLP by Metro. You need to take an RER train. In the Opera area, the Auber stop is closest. But it is definitely not the last stop before the park! If this is the only reason you're looking to stay in the Opera area, you were given poor advice. Still, it's not a bad area to stay in and has good transportation connections to the rest of the city.

You get to Disney on the RER A line. Using the wrong word is not a big deal but I want to make sure that you do not try and use regular metro tickets for the ride when the time comes. All Metro tickets are one price but RER tickets are point to point tickets and while they look the same as metro tickets for this trip, the cost will be different. Also, don't discard your ticket until you are outside of the station. Now on to the hotel question. Staying near the Auber RER station is not a bad idea if you want to take the RER to Disney without having to connect from from a metro line but it is a busier more commercial part of Paris. There are excellent metro connections for seeing the sights. Hotel Opera Cadet is fine but it is about a 15 minute walk or a train trip to Auber RER stop so I don't really think of it as being great if you are picking a stop for ease of getting to Disney. I assume you want a quad room so take a look at Hotel Saint-Petersbourg Opera. The Hautville Opera is a pretty poor choice and there is no Novotel near the Opera area. I would lean toward ignoring the AAA suggestions.

Edit: For some reason my post took a long time to load and I did not see the first response. Instead of deleting my post, I am leaving it up despite the duplication because of my hotel suggestion.
