Hotels in Nice (Pool/Beach Club Access)

Will be visiting Nice with my husband in mid/late May for 7 days. We plan to make Nice our base for all the local day trips. I have personally been to Nice before in mid April and loved staying at the Grimaldi Hotel. However, my husband would like a larger room, be walking distance to the beach with preferably a pool (since the water may be too cold for a dip) and maybe even a spa.

I read that some hotels, probably near the promenade, give guests access to some of the beach clubs. Does anyone have any recommendations for this type of hotel? We're aware it's during the Cannes film festival and prices are high. I'm hoping to keep it under $500/night. Thank you in advance!

Lastly, if anyone thinks 1 hotel for 7 nights will get dull, please let me know. Last time I went, we also stayed in Villefranche which was more pricey and wish we would have just stayed in Nice. Our current plans for day trips are Villefranche Sur Mer, Menton, Monaco, Cannes (aware the film festival will make it super busy but we still want to go) and Antibes.

Some hotels do have their own beach clubs (e.g., Negresco, Amour, Beau Rivage) or have access priority agreements -- but not all are on the prom, like the top end Hotel du Couvent (and with all, club access still is charged, although sometimes at a discount). But there are many clubs where anyone can make a reservation. The tough point will be a pool (and availability due the Festival), which narrows the field a bit. The big ones along the Prom or close by with pools include le Meridien, Anantara, Maison Albar le Victoria, etc but they may be too pricey. You might consider some off the prom but with roof top pools like the Aston or Splendid (or further out, the AC). I've mainly been to drink and eat at most of these (or visit the beach clubs), so I don't have first hand experience.

Thank you so much for the hotel recommendations. My husband loved the look of the Meridien so we decided to splurge and spend 4 nights there. For the remainder 3 nights debating whether to stay in Nice at a cheaper hotel or maybe change of scenery with another local town.

Side note; we really loved the more casual vibe of Menton. And, re the beach clubs, even if don't find a hotel with a relationship with a beach club, you can pick any one to use. When were were in Nice several years ago, our day at the beach club across from our apartment was the best $100 we spent. Chairs, towels, umbrellas, cold wine, and an attentive wait person. Nice's beach is very rocky, FYI. Have fun!

there is a public beach in Monaco, towards the eastern end of the principality, called Larvotto Beach - Plage de Larvotto - which has a fine smooth imported pebble surface and a couple of high end hotels quite close, if that appeals.
