Hotels in Alsace

My husband and I have spent time in Alsace, staying in Eguisheim for several days. We loved it, and had a memorable time. We’re going back in May, and would like to do something different. I’m looking for suggestions for a town that’s big enough to have restaurants and cafes, and stores, and yet not too crowded with tourists. If you have an idea, maybe you could also suggest a hotel. We like local and traditional, but do like our own bathroom! We plan to stay 5 or 6 nights. Thank you for any input you can give us!

I’m not sure if Colmar fits your requirements, as it is quite touristy, but I would strongly recommend staying at the B&B run by Domaine Martin Jund. https://www.location.alsace/

They have several rooms upstairs from the winery, most if not all with private baths, at least one with a balcony. I went with a friend and we enjoyed one of their larger rooms, which included a small kitchen and sitting area. Breakfast was included, and they have a small tasting room in the courtyard. They press the grapes in the courtyard during the harvest, which was neat to see.

We enjoyed our stay in Riquewehr where we enjoyed the Hotel l’Oriel. Riquewehr is on the Wine Route. The only place we disliked in this area was Colmar as it didn’t compare to the other villages as far as charm goes.
