Hotel with a close view of the Eiffel tower

I don't know what amount of money you mean by moderate and I don't know how close you want to be but here are a couple of mid-priced hotels that I have stayed at or visited that have relatively close Eiffel Tower Views:

Not too terribly close, but drop dead views at this B&B. We loved it!

Not certain what close means, but we stayed at Hotel Duquesne Eiffel and could sit in front while sipping wine and watch the lights. Some rooms have a great view of the tower, but ours didn’t. The room was small, like many hotel room are in Paris, but adequate for the little amount of time we spent in the room.
