Hotel Residence Des Arts?

My husband and I are thinking of booking this Paris hotel for three nights in early August. I would be happy to hear from anyone who's stayed here recently. The location is ideal for our plans and I'm hoping that the renos mentioned on their website means air conditioning. Any feedback from the community?

Thanks!

We've stayed there and it was frankly one of the few hotels that we were disappointed in.

The photos looked much nicer than the rooms actually were.

We had a junior suite, and everything was old, frayed and very tired. The couch was uncomfortable as was the bed.

On our first evening we were trying to sit on the couch with a glass of wine and the curtain and curtain rod literally fell off of the window. The next morning my husband picked up the water carafe for the coffee machine and it snapped in two.

They were unable to replace the coffee machine in the five days we were there, although they did deliver us a coffee each morning at no cost.

The other thing we didn't like was that we had to cross the road to their far more expensive sister hotel for breakfast each morning. We had no idea about that, and whilst that wasn't a major issue, the lack of comfort of the furniture was. We ended up wasting our prepaid breakfasts and going elsewhere.

Of course if they have renovated now, that might make a difference, but just be aware.

My stay wasn't that recent (2019), but I loved it. My friend and I had the top floor room and we had an amazing amount of space. The location is excellent too.

That's interesting because we too had the top floor room. Did you have the junior suite or the double?

Our trip was after covid though, late 2022, so it seems that they left everything go during the lockdowns.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay, but I still maintain it is the one Paris hotel we've stayed at that we wouldn't return too.
