Hotel recommendations near the Luxemberg Gardens or close to La Mottle Picquet-Grenelle metro?

I've had reasons not to trust the Booking.com reviews, so hope to hear from some RS travellers.
Thank you.

Do you have a price range in mind or are you open to any price? In an event, near La Motte-Picquet-Grenelle, I love Hotel Ares Eiffel on Rue du Général de Larminat. I last stayed there for a weekend in 2013 and my family and friends took up three rooms and each one was charming and well decorated. It's about a 5-minute walk to the La Motte-Picquet-Grenelle metro station.
Which side on Jardin Luxembourg? On the north side the Hotel Luxembourg Parc is an excellent hotel but not super close to a metro station. There are lots of very good hotels in the vicinity of the Jardin Luxembourg such as Hotel de l'Abbaye Saint Germain about a 5 minute walk to the northwest from the Gardens and Hotel la Perle which is owned by the same group at that own the Luxembourg Parc and is about a 10 minute walk to the north. There are many more on the Blvd Saint Germain side that are generally a bit less expensive than the ones I mention here.

We absolutely loved the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, located in Rue Cardinal Lemoine not far from Jardin Luxembourg. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk down to the Seine at Ile St Louis and Notre Dame, and in the other direction near the Pantheon. There are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance, and it's near the Metro.

Others have commented that because it doesn't have air conditioning, if you're staying on an upper floor in hot weather it can be uncomfortable. Apart from that drawback, I highly recommend it.

I've stayed several times at the Grand Hotel des Balcons. South of the Luxembourg Gardens, north of Ste Germaine. Metro stop Odeon. No AC though. Great breakfast buffet.

I think Kateja means north of Luxembourg Gardens not south. It's not possible to be south of Luxembourg Gardens and north of Saint Germain.

We’ve stayed a block from the LG at Hotel du Pantheon and Hotel des Grands Hommes and liked them very much.

I second the Grand Hotel des Balcons. We stayed there two years ago with our two sons and loved the hotel and how close it was to everything. An easy walk from the metro station with our backpacks, great restaurants, charming neighborhoods. We were able to easily walk to Notre Dame and I remember walking home from the Musee d'Orsay.

The Hotel Grandes Ecoles does not have air-conditioning, just so you know.
