Hotel recommendations in 2-4th arrondissements?

Anyone have any (relatively) affordable hotel recommendations for the 2-4th arrondissements areas in Paris? My wife and I are headed there for our 10th anniversary this October, and would love some first hand knowledge. It's been a few years since I've been in Paris (2017), so I'm a bit out of the loop.

I loved Hotel Therese in the 2nd. Nice French atmosphere but not over the top. Quiet street but close to Louvre, etc. For October they have rates under 200 euro/night. They have some sister hotels too in other neighborhoods.

A search for my dates in October is $351+ a night for this hotel. What site are you seeing this rate on? Hoping to find something under $300 a night, if possible. I know that will be tough.

Hotel Therese is in the 1st arrondissement so if you really want to stick to the second to the fourth arrondissements, it is out of your area. I think you would be better served thinking about neighborhoods instead of arrondissements anyways. But sticking to your request, in the second, I like Hotel Bachaumont on Rue Bachaumont near Rue Montorgueil and Hotel Malte on Rue de Richelieu. I have not stayed at Hotel Lyric but I have heard that it is quite nice. It is on Rue de Gramont. I don't think any of these are under US$300 per night but I have not checked.

Agreed, in a perfect world we'd stay in the Marais, but I think that's going to be out of our budget. The more I'm searching, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to open up my search area a bit more. We will be there for a full week, with plenty of time to explore, so we don't have to stay in the trendiest spot.

Don't give up on Le Marais. You might be able to find something good for under your budget depending on your dates. I just looked at Hotel Caron le Marais on Rue Caron and Hotel Les Tournelles and they have doubles that are just under US$300 per night in October on certain dates. The same is true for Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa -- it's just outside of Le Marais and is under budget later in the month. These three hotels are really quite nice.

I’ll check those out, thanks! I’m limited to specific dates, but this is a good start.

Have you looked at Hotel Adele & Jules and Hotel 34B-Astotel? Both near Grands Boulevards Metro. Both have very high ratings on Tripadvisor.

hey hey J.E.
what are you dates? times have changed a lot as you can see, there doesn't seem to be an off season anymore. people are traveling all year long with wanting the same as you want "relatively affordable". prices have gone up everywhere.
few years back we stayed in the 14th in an apartment, even though it was nice, quiet and away from crowds, the cost of a taxi everyday back and forth added costs that we will stay closer to the "city center" next time to make up the difference for hotels.
good luck and enjoy

I don't know what kind of room you are looking for. I am staying at a hotel called French Theory, in the Latin Quarter/5th arr. in September. Their standard double room is under Euro 300 in October. I haven't stayed here yet, so I can't vouch for the hotel.

Oh there are definitely times to get better deals, when we need to go in early/mid October isn’t one of them. I don’t mind staying further out of the center to pay a little less for a nicer place, and I wouldn’t dream of spending on a taxi as the metro will get us everywhere we need to go. There are still lots of ways to get hotels under €200, but since we are stuck on dates and there are so many hotels, I want people’s input of places they have stayed if we are going to shell out over €300 a night potentially.

I’ll throw another Astotel into the mix: The Joyce is in a lovely location and offers easy access to central Paris via Line 12. Lots of great restaurants in the 9th.
