Hotel recommendations by CDG Airport

Leaving from the USA, my family and I have a day layover in Paris on our way to Italy and our way back.

We leave from Terminal 2 in the morning and we're nervous about jetlag (ie finally falling asleep when we should be getting up).

And then on the way back, we'll be leaving from Terminal 1. On the return trip, we're leaving just after lunch time, so it's not critical we're right at the airport, but want to be able to get there easily without a fuss.

thanks for your recommendations.

Ibis right at CDG -- clean, reasonable price, walk to the CDGVAL shuttle train to your terminal.

I might suggest any of the hotels which are actually on the airport, specifically at Roissypôle, such as:

  • Ibis
  • Ibis Styles
  • Hilton
  • Novotel
  • Pullman
  • CitizenM
  • Mercure
  • Holiday Inn

As pointed out above, the Sheraton is in Terminal 2.

We were happy enough with the Ibis at CDG, some others listed above will likely be more comfortable (for a price). If your transatlantic flight lands in the morning and your flight to Italy isn't till the next morning, leave your bags at the hotel and take the RER or other transportation into Paris for some sightseeing. If your layover going home is overnight, you could spend that night in Paris itself, leaving for the airport in plenty of time.

Another vote for Marriott. Reliable shuttle (5 minutes) to terminals; Marriott consistency; short stroll to the little village of Roissy-en-France with a few restaurants; excellent restaurant in the hotel. We used it for both Paris arrival day and night before return to US departure day.

If you don't want an American chain and something other than Ibis, how about the Golden Tulip, CDG Airport-Villepint....very nice restaurant, better than the Campanille. Just an estimation on prices...A single at Golden Tulip goes for a bit less than 60 Euro.
