We are looking for a hotel recommendation in Colmar. We would like something that is in the old part of the city and with charm and character, but nice... Does anyone have a recommendation? The higher rated hotels appear to have a very modern decor. We are looking for more of a typical "French village" feel. We are also open to staying in one of the other towns, if there is a better hotel suggestion. We will have a car.

I really liked Hotel St Martin. Wonderful ancient bldg, great location, very nice people. I don't remember what I paid, but it was reasonable.

You might have a look at Hotel Rapp. It's in a great location and I thought the rooms were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, and they serve a nice breakfast.

We enjoyed Hotel La Maison des Tetes in the older part of Colmar. Comfortable rooms, nice courtyard and excellent restaurant.
