hotel on or near Rue Cler in Paris

In the past we stayed at a Rick Steve's reco on Rue Cler named The Grand Hotel Leveque but the prices have gotten so high, does anyone have experience with another hotel in the area?

A block or so off Rue Cler was Hotel Relais Bosquet which we found to be very nice and well located. Not going back to Paris this year, but likely to back soon and will consider Hotel Relais Bosquet again.

This is the area I usually stay in. I've stayed at Relais Bosquet several times but when I looked at their rates for this Fall they were pretty high. I'm splitting my stay between the Hotel Beaugency and Hotel Muguet. I am not sure how they compare price-wise to Leveque. The Leveque did a complete back to the studs reno right at the end of Covid so I'm sure that is why their prices are up.

Beaugency is the least expensive of the 3 and I've also stayed here often. However, last time I stayed which was in 2022,I felt it was pretty tired inside and needed some reno. The staff is just awesome here, though.

Muguet was still higher for October than last April but was about midway between the Beaugency and Relais Bosquet. They have the nicest linens...fluffy towels and soft sheets, lol. I also really like the staff and the owners/owners daughters are there daily.

I've also stayed at Hotel de la Motte Piquet in the distant past (pre-Covid). It's not my favorite as the breakfast room is minuscule.

I'm a solo female traveler and it's important to me to have someone at the front desk at all times. For both the Muguet and Beaugency the staff recognizes you after a day or so, or actually in both cases remember me from time to time which is very sweet!

editing to add: Forgot about Londres Eiffel which is another RS tour hotel as well as the Hotel l'Empereur. I've stayed at both not on a tour and they are very nice as well.

We recently stayed at Hotel de l’empereur. It was fine, clean, plenty of hot water, helpful staff and 150yd from metro stop

I laugh at the 'Grand Hotel Leveque' being expensive. We stayed there long ago based on Steve's recommendation and it taught us to avoid his recommendations for hotels. It was the worst hotel we ever stayed in in France; the piece de resistance was that when our baby sitter called they denied we were guests, although we were there for 5 days. I assume they have been renovated and the shower no longer pours into the bedroom and the pipes no longer keep you up at night and the rooms are more attractive -- and one hopes the reception people are less surly and no longer dump half a baguette on a bare table for breakfast.
