hotel near Louvre, Marais, or Opera

HI all, Heading off to Paris, again, and we have a lot of experience with bad hotels (left bank and Marais) so we are wopndering if anyone has any recommendations. We have triewd 2 star and a 3 star which turned out to be more like 1 star. Last tiome we tried a BW which turned out to be much nicer, but is booked this time. We are willing to up the ante a bit and have sen pretty nice reviews on several hotels, below, but there are always reviews that say the pictures we get to see do not match what the hotel actually looks like, or that the bathrooms haven't been updated since Charlemagne was a toddler. Anyway, recommendations from a trusted group of travelers (RS travelers) would be helpful. Also if anyone has any insights on the hotels below.

Hotel Louvre St. Anne
Hotel de la Place du Louvre
Hotel L’Horset Opera
Hotel Crayon
Hotel Therese

Thanks, in advance

Hi Steve,

We'll be in Paris in Oct & we booked the Hotel Brighton across from the Tuilleries. Our tour with Odyssey Unlimited has us in Hotel Frontennac for 2 nights also. Years ago I stayed with my young family on the left bank, St Germaine, at the Hôtel des Marronniers on Rue Jacob and it was great [ and I've read it's been improved.]
Hope this helps

Diane,

Thanks for the info. The Hotel Frontennac looks like an excellent choice, but we were running out of time so we alrewady booked down near Les Halles. I'll have to remember this for next trip. Seems like I'm always rolling the dice with hotels in Paris (for me at least). Now I can only hope Les Relais des Halles works out OK.
