Any recommendations for a hotel near the St. Lazare train station in Paris? Also, is it walkable from the Opera metro station to Gare St. Lazare? Thanks for the help! We will only be staying there for one night between arriving at CDG and taking a train the next morning to Caen, so the closer to St. Lazare, the better.

It's about a 15 minute walk from Opera to Gare Saint Lazare. How near to GSL? Hotel Le Grey on Rue de Parme is excellent and only about a 10-minute walk away.

Hi Marlene, unless there are other reasons for being very near to the train station, I wouldn't limit myself to that area. We stayed in the 7th near Napoleon's Tomb and it was only a 5 minute, $10 euro taxi ride to Gare St. Lazare. Didn't want to deal with the metro with our luggage so we thought it was a good deal.
