Hi,
I've seen a lot of great hotel recommendations but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a hotel in the St. Germaine area or Latin Quarter that was in the lower $200 range.
Thank you,
Sherri

hey hey sherri
how many people, what are your dates, any amenities you’re wanting/hoping for, mobility issues?
many prices have skyrocketed, look at booking.com
filters on left, look at map with places that fit your wants. many people email direct to see if better options and book with them for better rates, it may happen it may not. your decision. good luck enjoy

Check Hotel du Dragon, although not for Americans who cannot do without air conditioning.
When you are visiting makes a huge difference in price. A 150€ per night hotel in January could easily cost 300€ in July, particularly in the tourist heavy areas of St. Germain or the Latin Quarter, and we should include the Marais as well. Going slightly outside of these areas can save money.
Paris prices have risen a bit, but for those visiting from the USA, the dollar has dropped significantly against the euro in the last year, making your vacation cost more.
These hotels in St Germain should be around 200€ depending upon when you visit. Keep in mind that August is low season when hotels cost noticeably less than in July or September. These are average prices and may vary by month.

If I were really budget conscience, I would consider the Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement. You're trading a bit of convenience for a neighborhood void of tourists and filled with interesting, inexpensive restaurants.

These are just a few suggestions. You will want to confirm amenities and price for any of these hotels.
I'll vouch for Hotel Marignan, fab couple that owns it, awesome location but no elevator, 18 steps in between floors and some shared bathrooms.
I really like the Hotel Albe St. Michel (https://www.hotelalbestmichel.com) as a great option for the proximity to transportation. I use the bus in Paris and there are multiple bus stops within 3 mins from the hotel and another several within 5 mins to get you anywhere you need to go across the entire city. It's comfortable, nothing fancy, someone at the front desk 24/7, they lock the front door at night and you need your key to get in (I travel solo so these things matter to me) and their lift was fine for me and my 3 suitcases on my last, long visit. I'll be staying there again in May. I also get a room with a view of the Seine and you can walk to Notre Dame in around 5 mins. It can be noisy at night because of the location, but I pop in my earplugs and after the long day you'll have anyway, you probably won't have trouble sleeping! There is a fabulous Monoprix 2 blocks away, the Paris Baguette next door has a great croissant and small quiche for breakfast that's super affordable and I really can't find anything else that gets me going where I need to go with transportation or if I want to do all walking, I'm close enough for all the top spots too. I paid $1700 for 9 nights last November into December and I'm paying around $800 for 4 nights over one of the public holiday weekends in May. Can't recommend enough.
I have our large family booked into Hotel des Nations Saint Germain in July. Its in the Latin Quarter. A/C. Good reviews…most comments are about good location. Reasonable price for our 4 rooms.
Thank you so much to everyone for all of the suggestions! I really appreciate it!
KInd regards,
Sherri
