I would like to stay at Hotel Ibis CDG trying to find out about transportation from the hotel into the town Roissy for dinner and just look around. What about this?

Buses depart from Roissypôle which is also where the Ibis is located. Look for bus 95-02. The Ibis front desk should have current information.
Brasserie Flo in Terminal 2F is generally very good if you want to eat at the airport and save waiting for the bus.

Many of Roissy's dining choices are dependent on its cluster of chain hotels. Among them is another Ibis where the food is exactly what Ibis promises in general -- no surprises. I haven't tried it but you might be able to use the airport shuttles these chains operate from the top of Terminal 2 (at least that was the stopping point several years ago.)

Or there's a most serviceable Mickey D at CDG ....
