Hotel Des Nations Saint Germain?

Hello all.

My wife and I will be in Paris for the first time November 06-10, and I have a double ensuite room with free cancellation reserved at this hotel directly across Rue Monge from the Arenes de Lutece. The hotel seems great, but I am hedging just in case. Has anyone stayed here? The area seems central enough for getting around with a metro stop near by. I can get the room for under $500 by paying in advance which seems like a great deal for 4 nights in Paris.
Any other suggestions for our trip are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I don't know the hotel but you chose a great area. You won't spend a lot of time at the hotel any way, with Paris right outside your door. I have tried to drive myself crazy choosing just the right place, and always suffer from that "grass is greener" regret when I commit. Maybe wait a day or two for some more specific advice, and then just bite the bullet. My only other advice is, once you commit to a hotel stop looking.

Be sure to take a walk in the Luxembourg Garden and the Jardin des Plantes if you can, although it will be chilly. Have the most wonderful time and enjoy every minute of your adventure!

Try the Search function on this website. The subject of budget hotels in Paris comes up fairly often, and the name of that hotel is vaguely familar.

I have not stayed there but, I stayed nearby at a Hotel Monge in August 2017. I quite like the area — not tourist central but an easy 20-minute walk to Notre Dame. Also a 20-minute walk to Bastille and quite close to the Pantheon and Rue Mouffertard. I walked into the hotel to take a look at it for future reference and found it to be fine and quite a value price wise as compared to Hotel Monge, which, by the way, I loved. A great restaurant nearby is Table de Genevieve.

It’s not the most convenient area for a tourist but it’s not bad and the area itself is good. A close friend just booked a room there, after much research, so I checked it out and it looks like a really nice hotel for a low price. I think you’ll be happy there.
