Hotel Des Marronniers or Hotel Le Clement?

Hi, All!

I am struggling with our hotel reservations for a family of four. We currently are booked in the family room at Hotel Esmeralda but after much reading, I am VERY concerned about August without air conditioning, although I know my kids would love this hotel.

With that in mind, I am looking at either two rooms at Hotel Le Clement or a quad room at Hotel Des Marronniers. Any advice please? We are coming into Gare de Est and leaving out of CDG if that makes any difference too. Thank you!

Hotel des Marronniers would be my choice. It's set off the street and will be quieter than most other hotels in the area.

I'd go for Hotel Clement. Why? Two rooms and two bathrooms beat a quad for me every time when both are in good areas.

You are very wise to make sure you have ac !! Touring about all day in heat is one thing , needing a cool retreat makes the days bearable .

I too vote for two rooms . Rooms are going small in both hotels , I'd rather have two small rooms than one ! Two bathrooms is a big plus too .

Thank you, all!

One last choice....what about Hotel Excelsior Latin? They have one quad room left (258 ft) for about 10 euro/night more than these other two. Would that be a better choice please? I really appreciate the help!

I think you are over thinking this , it's a bed and shower , hopefully you won't spend much time in your room .

As long as room is clean , comfy bed , and well located ( and has ac) you should just choose one and stop looking around for another . You need to spend more time looking at what yourre going to do in Paris , and not where you are going to sleep and dress .

Have fun and stop worrying , there are thousands of hotels in Paris , you could go around in circles choosing if you keep looking

Thx, Pat! I probably am overthinking all of it. It's been many years since I have visited and this will be my first time overseas with my 8 and 10 year old. Of course, I am trying to choose a perfect location for them and I know they will be in heaven regardless. =)

In missed the part about you taking your kids, because of that I will add this , when I took my kids I always made sure to get a hotel room with a mini fridge . Then I could stop at grocers and get some yougurts and juice boxes for late night snacks or to tide them over in morning till I was ready to go out . All but one place the mini fridge has been empty , one place had stuff in it but I took it out , told daughter not to touch that stuff , and stocked it myself . Never had a problem at checkout as I replaced everything back in fridge . I don't stay in super modern hotels that have fridge sensors so it was a non issue . Anyways out of all your choices I would suggest you check room amenities to see if any have min fridges .

Are you certain about the room's measurements?
Over 200 square feet would be the size of an average 5 bedroom apartment...
Maybe someone mistranslated square feet into square meters?

This is from the website:

Quadruple room - Classic with shower or bath
Room size: 258.33 ft²
Bedding:

Guests: 4 people

(I think that ends up being approx. 18X14 feet if my calculations are correct?)

It's actually 24 square meters. But if it works for you, I'd go for it.
You'll be close to everything, and can walk or take the Metro anywhere you want to go.
