Hotel des Deux Iles vs. Hotel de Lutece?

Hello! I am trying to choose between these two hotels - which are owned by the same people. Does any one have recommendations for one over the other? They seem quite similar, but about 40 Euro different in price per night.

I appreciate any specific details you can share - thank you!

We have been to Paris twice to stay in Hotel de Lutece….we love the location of staying on the Ile St. Louis and its convenience for us. One morning last May we had decided to eat breakfast at Lutece before heading out and they could not seat us…..so they walked us over to Hotel des Deux Iles and we ate there…..impressed with our food and the look of the hotel. Wish I could give you more info but that is all I know.

We've stayed at Hotel des Deux-Iles and will do so again as we were very pleased with everything. If you book either place, we can tell you about a great breakfast place nearby as the hotel breakfast seemed a bit overpriced for what it included. Just out opinion. Can also steer you to a couple of other places to eat on the same street.

I’ve stayed at both, can’t go wrong with either one but i like Hotel de Lutèce better. I like the rooms, bathrooms and lobby better at Hotel de Lutèce. Staying on ISL is wonderful.

Just adding to the chorus. Haven’t stayed at both, but in April we stayed at de Lutece for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! The hotel is wonderful ( we had a bigger room, I think the number was 661), the island has a wonderful neighborhood feel and the best part is it’s quiet at night! We had our windows open and no city noises! There was a grocery right nearby and a boulangerie for our breakfast. You will love it!

I have stayed at Hotel de Lutèce and really liked it. (I should say it was probably 10 years ago) If I still stayed at hotels I would consider staying there again. I walked by it this past January and had a glimpse in the window and it still looked nice :-)

Merci for your responses and recs! We are all set now, and excited to experience a different kind of “island life”!😊

My number one rule for Paris is to never, ever, eat breakfast in a hotel. Invariably overpriced and almost always in "la cave"... the basement. Last place I want to sit when in Paris!

Walk toward Notre Dame from either hotel and you'll find 4 cafes right at the bridge. Or turn right and there's another just steps down the street.

I do too Alexander. The cafés on Ile St Louis at the pedestrian bridge are insanely expensive. We’ve stayed at Hotel St Louis en l’Isle many times and their breakfast is fantastic. It is/was €15 and well worth it, very well done and superior quality. Many (most?) hotel breakfasts are all you can eat, unlike cafés.
