Hotel de la tour Eiffel? Or never again kinda stay

Hello fellow travelers, so the reviews arent the best for hotel de la tour eiffel but Hotel du Champ de Mars was taken and we want to be close to the Eiffel Tower. So is it really THAT bad? Are there any tips anyone can give me to counter balance what is bad? What sold us is the huge discount we got. We are booking the family 3 room + courtyard at a steal of a price per night (Paris price considering) and it just seems illogical to stay somewhere else. They've offered us an airport pick up at 95 euros with a family of 6 that didnt sound so bad either since rail + bus would take about the same price per person. Anyway- help me not regret my decision or speak some sense into me and give me courage to cancel if it is really that bad.

I think that you will find that €95 is taking the proverbial for 6 to the right bank.

You can do better on the airport transportation by going to the official taxi line. The flat rate to the Left Bank is 55E for 4 people and luggage plus 4E each for the next 2 people. The taxi manager at the head of the line will get you an appropriate sized vehicle. He may ask you to stand aside for a few minutes until one can pull up.

Do not go with anyone who walks up and asks if you want a taxi-follow the signs to the line.

Haven't stayed at this hotel but the reviews on booking.com aren't all THAT bad. The most common complaint is size of the rooms but that's a frequent one amongst (especially) first-timers to Paris or other European cities. Rooms sizes are often quite a lot cozier than what we're used to in the U.S.

That hotel has an 8 rating on Booking.com so should be adequate. If you’re concerned, look up “Travelers’” photos on TripAdvisor to see the untouched up photos of real experiences.

If reviews mention “small rooms”, well that’s just the norm in Paris. Enjoy your trip!
