Hôtel Beaubourg

I'm going to France in September and looking for a hotel for 6 nights. Has anyone stayed at the Hotle Beaubourg or Hotel Diana? What are your thoughts on the accomodations and location. I welcome any other suggestions for places to stay for 2 adults.

We stayed at the Hotel Diana years ago. It was Ok for the ONE night we were there, very small room and the manager at the time was not the most welcoming. Rue St. Jacques where this hotel is located was kind of dicey walking toward the Seine. Suggest you investigate apartments for 6 nights- more room and less expense.

I am surprised that the poster above found rue Saint Jacques to be "dicey", as it is really safe and very central. Sure, some restaurants are of the cheap/tacky variety, but that's about it for downsides.
The location of Hotel Beaubourg is perhaps a hair more charming in my view (I prefer the Marais to the Latin quarter), but really there's not much difference, even though they are on opposite sides of the river they are a 15-min walk apart.

Hi Balso-
Dicey in that there was a young woman, pants down, squatting and urinating on the sidewalk of Rue St. Jacques. Not pleasant to see, and that image has colored my view of that location. Kinda like NOLA's Bourbon St area, except there we encountered men standing and aiming their urine at the building in front of them.

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying, that could have happened anywhere in France where there is nightlife (although perpetrators are usually male). We aren't too hung up on public urination, for better or for worse...
