Do you know of a decent hotel for 1 night by the Paris CDG airport with a shuttle to airport?
You don't take a shuttle to airport, you get a hotel AT the airport and just use the CDG VAL transport to your terminal. Don't get a hotel where you have to rely on a hotel shuttle.
There are lots of hotels at Roissypole which is also where the RER arrives and has an CDG VAL We use the Novotel which is relatively inexpensive, quiet, has a decent buffet breakfast. But there are several. You can look up CDG Airport hotels and check them out. the Sheraton is right at Terminal 2 but generally pretty expensive. There is also a HIlton.
There are hotels in the nearby town of Roissy with shuttle service, but Janet is right -- better to stay at one of the hotels right on the airport grounds. CDG's website lists 14 of them.
This website should provide all the information you're looking for - https://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passengers/services/hotels-paris-cdg . There's also a map which shows the terminals and location of hotels.
This is one hotel you could consider, although it's probably going to be a bit pricey - https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/parsi-sheraton-paris-charles-de-gaulle-airport-hotel/overview/ .
Thank you so much! I had no idea that CDG is so huge and has hotels right there!
We recently stayed at the Sheraton for one night departing the next morning. It went very smoothly. We checked out and got a free push cart for our luggage and walked down the terminal corridor to the check in area. No shuttles involved. We had time to eat breakfast at the hotel before checking out.
We also stayed at the Sheraton last time we were flying home from Paris. It was expensive for sure, but boy was it slick. Didn't have to get up as early to get out to CDG, didn't have to worry about a shuttle from a Roissy hotel, it was great. Had an ok dinner at the hotel restaurant, a drink at the hotel bar and in the morning it was very easy.
Thank you all for your help. We booked a night at the Hyatt at CDG. I’ll let you know how it was…

Oops! I just discovered you need to taxi to the airport for 25euro!!! Well, we have free cancellation and plenty of time
Yeah, be careful, most of the hotels that have CDG in the name are NOT along the automated CDGVAL shuttle and thus require a hotel shuttle or a cab.
The best tool is probably Google Maps; look for hotels around "Roissypole" or "Parc Pr" shuttle stops. Plus the aforementioned Sheraton.
Thank you!
we stay at the CitizenM … its about a 5 minute walk from the CDGVAL stop.
