Hello – I’m on the Best of Eastern France tour and wondering what the best options are from Hotel Aquabella (Aix-en-Provence) to MRS? I believe I need to get to bus station from hotel and then I’ll be on my way to MRS where I fly out to AMS-EDI.
Thank you.
Hotel Aquabella is located a 2-minute walk from the major "Bourse" bus stop, which is served by numerous bus lines heading either to the train station (SNCF) for trains to Marseille or to Aix's main bus station.
Aix-en-Provence transport map:
We LOVED this tour and the hotel. Also to consider, some tour members shared taxis to MRS. It was similar in price to the bus and a little easier than schlepping suitcases. Have a lovely time!
You don't need to go all the way into Marseille to get to the airport. Aix is about a half-hour's bus ride to the airport. The airport is closer to Aix than the Marseille train station is. I believe the buses run about every 30 minutes. The bus costs 5 euro. A taxi takes about a half-hour also and costs between 50 and 70 euro.
Day 14: Tour Over After Breakfast
Breakfast is provided, but there are no group activities today. It's an easy 30-minute bus, shuttle, or taxi ride to the Marseille airport. For those staying longer, your guide will be happy to send you off in the right direction and help with any trip-planning needs
Cannot imagine that the guide wouldn't be able to have useful suggestions, or help you coordinate with others who are doing the same thing.
Thanks for all the replies. FYI - JoLui the link you provided doesn’t appear to work. Joe32F. Always a peace of mind for me to have planned out as much as I can in advance. From my experience, the tour guides have been wonderful. Chris Coleman will be guide on this tour.
The airport is 16 miles from the hotel.
Even taking a taxi isn't going to be punitively expensive.
Keep calm and carry on. :-)
