Hop On/Off Bus Paris

Hello again,
Does anyone have recent info on the L'Open HOHO bus tours in Paris ? I can't seem to find an "official Website" for them. Everything seems to be coming back to tour agency sales sites. Also, the L'Open I thought was the Green/Yellow bus, but some sites show them as Red/White/Blue Buses. Also, some websites say L'open has 3 routes, others sites show 4 routes. Just want to use this for 1st day orientation. I will use metro and city bus for travel. Thanks !

note that a two day ticket is only a few euros more so may be worth investing in it.. its hard to do all four routes in one day if you choose to get off and on at a few spots.

Maybe it was just us but I HATED l’open tour.

The commentary was boring and not synced with what we were seeing. It would say to your left is a statue of so and so......well there was a statue about 3 blocks further. After 15minutes I just took off my earphones and started explaining things to my mom cause I seemed to know more than the commentary just from reading my Rick Steves books and being on here.

We used our 2 days on it as transportation.

I wished we had taken a different company. I would much prefer a live guide.

If you are looking for HOHO bus tours in general and not a specific company. I found that at the Notre Dame area there were at least 4 - 5 different HOHO bus companies adding visitors (boarding) Each of the buses handed out a map showing the route they take, where you can HOHO etc.
It seemed to me that they all went to pretty much the same places.
(We did the "Big Bus" and enjoyed it ....we rode the whole route and then stayed on and went again and got off at the Arc De Triumph and after going to the top of the arch, we walked down the Champs Elysees and stopped for lunch. It was a great way to orient ourselves to where things are in Paris and enjoyed the rest of our 4 days there.

Some HOHO operations leave the impression that they are an efficient way to get around the city. The original poster is more realistic. A bus tour can help with city orientation but after that the regular transit facilities are more efficient.

I absolutely agree with Southam. We took the Paris HOHO as a way to get oriented, but noted that you'd probably spend half your day waiting for a bus to pick you up, if you got off at stops along the way.

You don't have to stay on the bus.
You can take the Metro back to where you are living, as soon as you've had enough traffic.

They are horrible transportation and you wait endlessly. If you want a bus overview of Paris take the Foxity two hour bus tour and then use the metro to get where you want to go.
