Has anyone been in Honfleur during the flea market (first Sunday of the month)? I'm debating dates for an upcoming trip to Normandy, and wondering whether to avoid or embrace the flea market. I typically do not enjoy flea markets here in the States, but something I read gave me the sense this one might be nicer than the junkier ones I've been to in the past. I'll be traveling with my sister, who is an avid photographer, so my other concern is that it may clutter up areas she would like to photograph. I read that it is situated around Eglise St. Catherine; does it spill over into the area around the harbor? Thank you for your help!
My wife and I have had the pleasure to attend the Honfleur flea market a couple of times in the past five years, as well as the slightly larger flea market down the coast in Deauville. Both were quite pleasant and we have always departed with "needful things." Please don't conflate U.S. flea markets with those in Normandy. Apples and oranges. And no, you will not encounter a table selling tube socks in Honfleur.
Enjoy!!!
Thanks Ed! That's really helpful. Do you remember how far the market extended past St. Catherine's?
