We are a family of 8 (adults) and are looking for a home or villa with a pool for 4 days while we tour Nice and the surrounding area. Having never been to this area it is difficult to know the preferable locations. We have a relatively modest budget but can stretch if the accommodation is well located. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you

Unfortunately, it's an extraordinarily expensive area. Also trying to rent for less than a week may pose problems.
What time of year are you looking for?

One thing to keep in mind is that the coastal towns are very well served by regional trains. The hill towns usually require buses (many of which fan out from Nice). To stay in an area that requires you to take a bus to connect to the train (or to another bus) will mean considerable transportation time every day. If you choose a house that's not very convenient to public transportation, you'll need two cars to move 8 people around, and parking could be both difficult and costly when you reach your sightseeing target.
Do you have a list of the places you hope to go? Four days isn't a lot of time--and do you really mean four nights? Four nights would give you only three full days and some extra hours.
