Home base near Colmar for 3 nights

Does anyone have any recommendations for the southern Alsace/Colmar area for accommodations. Rick Steves has recommendations in Colmar and Eguisheim but since this will be our few days with our rental car (picking up in Strausbourg) I didn't really want to be going in and out of the city (we are staying 3 nights in this area) and as delightful as Eguisheim looks I am concerned about making that a home base given all the tourist. Two adults, 50's, need parking, WIFI and something in the area of 100euros a night. Any suggestions?

We stayed in Eguisheim in 2012 and did not find it all that touristy. (we were there in September). Certainly not as touristy as many of the other villages we visited on the Route du Vin. (Riquewhir, Kayserberg, etc.) My advice is to stay away from most of the towns and villages right on the Route du Vin if you want to avoid tourists. These towns live off tourism.

We stayed right in Colmar and loved it. We used this apartment, which was 85 Euros a night. Apartment Gite le Vingt Colmar
20 Rue Turenne, Colmar - next to Natural History Museum Caroline Orbann 33 0646850733. Here's a link to a rental site, but it's in French (sorry:) ). This was one of the few apartment rentals I have done that wasn't on VRBO as I couldn't find anything on VRBO and had to expand my search. It was a really nice place...very comfortable but not super fancy. The owner was extremely nice and the location was really fantastic. Not sure what time of year you're going but the apartment is NOT air conditioned. We were there in June for 100-degree unusually hot weather and we were pretty warm in there.

We just got back from France and we stayed in Ingersheim at Zenitude Hotel Residence Les Rives de la Fecht..very nice apartment next to a park with indoor swimming pool and only 7 minutes from Colmar. About 1 mile walking to Ingersheim. Would recommend this property and would stay there again.

We stayed here:

I believe I got it out of the Rick Steve's Book. We stayed in the Blue room. At least one of the rooms had the bathroom across the hall from the bedrooms, but in our room the bathroom was attached to the room. It was very comfortable, breakfast was good, and it had good parking. We were 2 blocks from the heart of town and right at the beginning of a great hike up to the 3 chateaus. It was simple, but homey and comfortable. I can't remember what we paid but I know it was very reasonable (right now it is 46 euros) The town itself is small and you can walk from one end to the other in a few minutes. There are services (shops, wine tasting places, restaurants, etc,) but it was small and not very crowded with tourists. All the towns are picturesque, but I liked that Eguisheim was a little quieter than f the others we visited, (Riquewihr was the busiest!). The only thing I am not sure of is the wifi. We did not use it on that trip. However, I would be surprised if they did not have it. Have a great trip.
