Hello. Can any of you please help with this??
We have a large family trip this summer in France. We will be in Paris for a few nights. One of my family members wants to stay at the holiday inn St Germain in Paris. Their website clearly states the sofa bed in the room is only for one person. We are a family of four and need it to fit two children. Can anyone advise the size of the sofa beds in this hotel? I would love any insights on this delimma ... also in my limited research, I believe the hotel does not have adjoining rooms so that would not be of help either. Thank you.
Have you tried contacting the hotel to ask them?
We stay in a different Holiday Inn with a sofa bed in the room, it’s a loveseat that pulls out to a twin bed size and their website clearly states that the room accommodates 3. This summer we are taking two teenagers so I called our hotel to discuss solutions and fortunately ours has adjoining rooms so we booked 2 rooms. Perhaps yours will have adjoining rooms too, it’s worth a call.
You should e-mail the hotel about the size of the sofa bed and I hope the answer is yes you can put both children in the room, but I fear the answer will be no if either of your children is over 12. So, how old are your children? The hotel is pretty clear that the largest rooms and suites serve three people so I am not optimistic about your chances. By the way, the hotel does have connecting rooms which is what I think you mean by adjoining rooms. I have a family of four and I have made a bit of a study of hotels in Paris with connecting (adjoining) rooms.
Thank you! You have been very helpful. I emailed the hotel but didn’t call. I thought since the hotel was very clear in the website that the sofa bed only sleeps one but my family members didn’t believe me. Your input has been helpful for them and I will call the hotel to confirm.
Thank you for letting me know this hotel does have adjoining rooms. In my initial research I did not not discover that!
I love this forum. You guys are always so helpful.

"but my family members didn’t believe me." Wow, that would really bug me. Did you show them the website?
I would get that family member to help you with the research!!!
Good luck with your enquiries.
(Any particular reason for wanting to stay in this hotel?)
Ha! Yes. It does bug me!
I believe they want to stay here because of the great location (neighborhood) and family amenities close by. I think they read it is a great locations for families.
Are they attracted to the hotel because they know the chain? If they want to stay there because of some sort of discount or they have points, then it makes sense but otherwise, I would look at other places and compare them. Then again, for family peace, which sometimes can be priceless, it may be best to just stay there. It's a good hotel (with a nice bar) in a good location but there are a lot of hotels in Paris in that price range that I think are better located (closer to the river and still close to the Jardin Luxembourg and in great locations for families). Two that spring to my mind are the Hotel Odeon Saint Germain on rue Saint Sulpice (stayed there in connecting rooms with my husband and children) and Hotel la Perle, which has rooms for four people. Hotel la Perle is part of a family of hotels that includes Au Manoir Saint Germain, Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain, and Hotel Esprit Saint Germain. The hotels I mention/suggest, except the Hotel Esprit Saint Germain and Au Manoir Saint Germain, should be around the same cost or less than the Holiday Inn and are closer to the river and IMO are nicer and better hotels than the Holiday Inn.
Thanks for the hotel info. I will look into those hotels as well. Much appreciated!
